The register of licensed architects

Every professional RIA has registered and licensed for the current year. Search by name or registration number, or filter by discipline, membership class and district.

What the register covers

This register lists individual professionals. Firms are listed separately, and the distinction matters: a firm can be registered while the person actually drawing your building is not, and a licensed individual can be working through a firm that has never registered. If you are appointing a practice, check both.

A current licence yearSomeone can be registered for twenty years and still not hold a licence for this one. Only a current licence permits practice.
Discipline and class shownEach entry shows the discipline the person is registered in, their membership class, and their district.
Firm details are optionalSome members publish contact details and a description of their work. Its absence says nothing about their standing.

How current it is

Reconciled monthly

The register is reconciled monthly and every entry carries the date it was last checked. Between reconciliations, renewals and new registrations appear as they are processed. If you believe an entry is wrong — yours or anyone else's — write to architectsofrwanda@gmail.com and we will check it.

What it is not

Not a ranking or a recommendation

RIA does not rate members, does not order them by merit, and does not take payment for position in results. Registration confirms that a person meets the legal requirements to practise; it does not tell you whether they are right for your particular building. That judgement is yours, and the appointment questions page exists to help you make it.

It is also not a record of complaints. Conduct matters are handled separately; if you have a concern about a member, use the complaints route.
